A year after graduation, I
married Loretta O’Keeffe. We had six children, five girls and
one boy. At this time, there are thirteen grandchildren. After
graduation, I went into the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves. After
being discharged from the Coast Guard, I worked for Western
Electric for two years. I then went to work on the tugboats in
New York harbor from 1962-1969. In 1969, I became a New York
City Department of Corrections officer and worked in the
Brooklyn House of Detention. In 1980, I was promoted to Captain
where I worked at Riker’s Island, King’s County Hospital and I
retired in 1989. After retirement I worked as Armed Security
in Manhattan until 1999. At this time, I retired completely and
moved from Tottenville to Manahawkin, New Jersey. At the
present time I enjoy golfing and fishing. |
