After
graduating from THS, attended business school. Needed clerical
skills for employment after taking academic courses! Employed
by Allied Chemical Corp. in NYC from 1959 until 1965. Sal
Tancredi (my New Dorp HS football hero) and I were married in
1962. I left Allied in 1965 before our first son Michael was
born. Steven was born in 1968. Then we became active in our
church, teaching Sunday school, sponsoring a church softball
team, many community and PTA school functions. Sal and I were
divorced in 1976, but life went on. I was employed again, this
time as an editor with Dun & Bradstreet. (Our computer was
connected to a main frame in NJ and the disks were the size of
pizzas). Michael joined the US Navy in 1983 retiring in 2006 as
a Senior Chief. He is now employed with the Government in a
similar capacity. Steve went to DeVry Institute and is employed
by Boston Scientific installing digital electronics for heart
oblation. In 1976 I met my husband Len at the shore while
vacationing with my sons. We had a Dear Abby relationship until
1986 when we finally married and moved to Barnegat, near Long
Beach Island, but inland. I worked at Noah’s Ark Day School
with the preschoolers and in the office while Len was a
Correction Officer in Middlesex County. Talk about opposite
ends of the spectrum. We are both retired now, very involved
with our grandchildren, enjoying a year round vacation.
