Shortly after graduating I joined the United States Coast Guard. After the service I began working for Brinks Incorporated in 1961. I married my wife Joan, a 1960 graduate of New Dorp High School, in April of 1964. In 1968 I began my career with the New York City Department Of Corrections. That same year our first child, Richard was born. In 1970 we had a daughter, Jennifer. In 1972 I transferred to the New York City Criminal Court System where I remained until my retirement from Corrections in 1988. After retirement I worked for Staten Island Community Services (Department of Aging). I remained there until my permanent retirement in 2002. In my years since retirement I have enjoyed spending time with my two granddaughters, Erin and Marissa. Our time these days is split between our home in Staten Island and our lake house in Pennsylvania where I enjoy fishing and boating. |
