I transferred into Tottenville High School in January 1958, but know quite a few graduates having grown up in Great Kills.

Spent 34 years with the New York Fire Department and retired in 1998.  My last assignment was at South Street, Manhattan, one block south of Wall Street.  Worked on the lower east side of Manhattan with Bill Storberg and Lester Taylor (1960s and 1970s).

My wife Shirleigh grew up in South Africa, attaining a Master’s Degree in Nursing at the Johannesburg General Hospital nursing program on a full scholarship.

I have two sons; Sean lives near me in Annadale (wife Diane) and my other son Brendan married Kristen from St. Peter, Illinois, south of Effingham.  She was Miss Illinois State Fair, 14 years ago, and toured Illinois in her red Mustang convertible.  Have two grand children, Daniel (2 ½) and Marisa (18 months).
